Are you a current employee at PHSS and interested in working toward your Developmental Services Worker (DSW) diploma?

The DSW Apprenticeship Program provides on-the-job training of employees who wish to pursue their education toward their DSW diploma. This “earn while you learn” program allows employees to maintain their current job status while working towards a Certificate of Apprenticeship.

Apprenticeship programs receive a subsidy from the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities, making this a very affordable means for employees to continue their education. Upon completion of the Certificate of Apprenticeship, the employee receives a $2,000 grant from Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.

PHSS is an employer sponsor of the DSW Apprenticeship Program. To be eligible to apply for the program, you need to meet the following qualifications:

  • Currently a permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee
  • Completion of probationary period
  • Grade 12 high school diploma equivalent to Ontario Education Standards
