Build a meaningful one-one-one connection with an individual, offering companionship and encouragement.

Be the face of PHSS at special events, help with fundraising initiatives or become an advocate for our cause.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals who have:

  • Strong listening and communication skills to build authentic relationships.

  • A flexible and adaptable approach, ready to work with diverse individuals.

  • The ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

  • A firm commitment to confidentiality and personal respect.

Your Commitment
 
We value your time and offer flexible scheduling to fit your life. To ensure consistent and meaningful support, we ask for a minimum commitment of 4 hours per month.

Check your eligibility:

  • Be 16 years of age or older (applicants under 18 require consent from a parent or guardian).

  • Be able to provide a clear and current Vulnerable Sector Police Check before starting.

PHSS operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, offering day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts.

Are you a current PHSS employee interested in earning your Developmental Services Worker (DSW) diploma?

 

Through the DSW Apprenticeship Program, you can earn while you learn!

 

This unique opportunity provides on-the-job training while you work toward your Certificate of Apprenticeship, all while continuing in your current role at PHSS.

 

As an employer sponsor of the program, PHSS is proud to support staff in advancing their education and building meaningful careers in developmental services.

Eligibility

To apply, you must:

 

  • Be a permanent full-time or permanent part-time PHSS employee

  • Have successfully completed your probationary period

  • Hold a Grade 12 diploma (Ontario Education Standards)
