People skating on the outdoor rink.

On January 30, 2025, people supported by PHSS, along with staff, families, friends, and volunteers, came together for an evening of Accessible Skating at Storybook Gardens. From first-time skaters to experienced pros, everyone had the opportunity to get on the ice and enjoy the skate trail in an inclusive, supportive setting.

Storybook Gardens and the City of London played an important role in making this event possible. Their commitment to accessibility and inclusive community spaces helped ensure that everyone was able to participate and feel welcome.

Volunteers were on hand throughout the evening, providing support to help skaters on the ice. Their support, along with the energy and enthusiasm of everyone who attended, made the night a success.

The event also led to the creation of PHSS’s Skate Club. People supported have been heading back to the rink every Wednesday throughout the winter to keep the fun going.

We’re excited to build on this momentum and are already looking ahead to planning our next Accessible Skating Night in 2026.
