London Track 3 Ski School operates a range of adaptive skiing and snowboarding programs designed for people with physical and/or intellectual challenges. One of these is the Track 3 Sit Ski program is specifically designed for people who require adaptive sit ski equipment and additional physical supports to participate in downhill skiing.

PHSS currently supports 7 people that are participating in the Track 3 Sit Ski program at Boler Mountain this winter, along with others involved in other Track 3 adaptive programs. Sit skiing sessions take place weekly, allowing participants to attend based on their schedules and support needs.

Each session is built around safety, skill development, and individual comfort. Adaptive equipment and trained volunteers work together to create an environment where participants can build confidence and skill at their own pace.

For Justin, this year marked his first experience with sit skiing. Before his first lesson, he wasn’t sure if skiing was something he wanted to try, but Justin chose to give it a chance.

Justin now looks forward to his weekly sessions, where he enjoys the speed of the descent, riding the lift to the top of the hill, and getting ready with his gear before heading out. He credits his instructors, Jodie and Bryan, for creating an experience that is professional, encouraging, and fun.

“Everything about the whole skiing experience has been nothing short of AWESOME,” Justin shared. “I am proud of myself for taking a risk, trying something new, and not listening to all the reasons I had not to go.”

Justin’s experience reflects what adaptive recreation can offer when programs are designed around access, choice, and support and progress is measured through comfort, engagement, and personal achievement.

We would like to congratulate the London Track 3 Ski School on winning Gold in the Sports, Recreation and Fitness – Skiing category at CommunityVotes London 2025. This recognition reflects the quality of programming, the commitment of volunteers, and the positive impact Track 3 has within the community.
